What is the fee for the new Canadian Physiotherapy Examination?
The fee for the new Canadian Physiotherapy Examination is $2500.
NOTE: CAPR recognizes that 2026 is a transitional year. For that reason, CAPR is offering a discounted fee to candidates who passed the current Physiotherapy Competency Examination – Written Component in 2025 and now need to take the new exam. From February through December 2026, the discounted fee for these candidates is $1800.

When is the new Canadian Physiotherapy Examination being offered?
The new Canadian Physiotherapy Examination will be offered throughout 2026.

NOTE: The January 2026 exam has a maximum capacity of 120 candidates.
Of these candidates, 100 must be Canadian-educated physiotherapy graduates who
- are taking the exam for the first time, or
- have passed the PCE Written Component but have not yet taken any other exam process approved by a Canadian provincial physiotherapy regulator.
This allows CAPR to ensure fairness and accuracy in determining the pass/fail standard for the new Canadian Physiotherapy Examination.
