Withdrawing from the CPTE

Withdrawing from the Exam
If you need to withdraw from the exam after you have registered, you can do so through a Withdrawal Request.
Withdrawal Requests must be submitted no later than the last calendar day before the exam date. Withdrawal Requests received after this time will not be accepted, and you will be considered a “no show” on exam day. You will forfeit the entire exam fee as a result. Note: a “no show” does not count as an exam attempt.
To submit a Withdrawal Request, follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to the Client Portal, and sign in.
Step 2: Within your client profile, click on the ‘Apply’ tab, and then on ‘Create Exam Rescheduling or Withdrawal Request’
- The ‘Create Exam Rescheduling or Withdrawal Request’ button will only show for candidates who are registered for the CPTE.
Step 3: Within the application
- Select ‘Withdrawal Request’ from the dropdown in the ‘Application Name’ field.
- Click on the ‘Submit Request’ button.
Step 4: Refund
Once your request has been processed by CAPR staff, you will receive a refund of the exam fee minus the withdrawal fee applicable at the time of the Withdrawal Request.
- No payment is required to submit a Withdrawal Request
- Refunds are generally made to the credit card we have on file
- If the refund does not go through for any reason (e.g., the credit card has expired, the credit card is cancelled, initial payment was processed more than six months ago, your name has changed, etc.) a cheque will be mailed to the Canadian address on file.
- For candidates without a Canadian address, the refund can only be made by bank draft:
- There will be fees involved and these vary from bank to bank.
- The refund amount will be reduced by the amount of the bank charges/mailing cost
