Types of Application

If you fail the Canadian Physiotherapy Examination, you can apply for the following services.
Administrative Reconsideration
You may apply for Administrative Reconsideration if you believe that your exam performance was negatively impacted by:
- Administrative issues: exam day occurrences or omissions that represent a significant deviation from CAPR’s exam administration standards or procedures.
- Ill health: illness or a medical issue impacting you during the exam.
- Extraordinary circumstances: an unexpected, significant event that was outside of your control and that could not be remediated.
See the Administrative Reconsideration Policy for full information.
Appeal
If your request for Administrative Reconsideration is denied, you can appeal that decision. See the Appeal Policy for full information.
Review of Marks
During the review of marks process, we check your exam responses against the exam answer key to make sure that you received a mark for every correct response. We then verify that your final score accurately reflects the total marks earned.
Be aware that any request for a review of marks is limited to identifying potential mathematical or technical errors associated with tallying your marks. A review of marks does not include any form of substantive re-reading/re-grading of your responses or changing the answer key.
Because we check exam scores carefully before releasing results, marks and final scores rarely change after a review of marks. However, if your exam result does change after a review of marks (i.e., if your result changes to a pass), we will refund the associated fee, as well as any other fees that you have paid to retake the exam.
