CAPR is excited to announce changes and enhancements to our credentialling program in the summer of 2026.
Key improvements include:
- A new assessment pathway – the Comparability Evaluation Pathway will replace the Standard Credentialling Pathway. The new pathway is designed to improve fairness and alignment with Canadian physiotherapy education standards.
- A streamlined document assessment process – simplified document requirements with a focus on electronic documents and removing duplication with immigration processes.
- A new evaluation tool – the Physiotherapy Evaluation Tool will provide actionable feedback to applicants by identifying opportunities to strengthen skills and knowledge before attempting the Canadian Physiotherapy Examination.
- Enhanced support for applicants – including direction to remediation resources and guidance throughout the credentialling journey.
These program changes aim to better support physiotherapists educated outside of Canada through the credentialling process. The new pathway will better prepare individuals for the exam and practice in Canada.
