CAPR is launching an exciting new project designed to improve how physiotherapists educated outside of Canada prepare for and navigate the Canadian licensure process.
In the short term, the project will improve access to clear, reliable, and consolidated information to help individuals understand licensure requirements. New pre-arrival resources, self-assessment tools, online learning modules and other resources will support earlier and more effective preparation, while increasing understanding of Canadian practice standards and regulatory expectations.
Over time, these supports are expected to streamline processes, accelerate workforce integration, and strengthen Canada’s physiotherapy workforce, by providing tools and resources designed to improve the readiness of physiotherapists educated outside of Canada.
This initiative builds on the CAPR’s recently announced Credentialling Program Enhancements, which strengthen and modernize national credentialling processes for internationally educated physiotherapists. Together, these initiatives support a more efficient, transparent, and accessible path to practice.
This project is funded by Health Canada to improve the integration of internationally educated health professionals into Canada’s health care system.
