CAPR would like to remind all candidates that the Canadian Physiotherapy Examination (CPTE) content is confidential and proprietary. When applying for the examination, candidates agree to abide by CAPR’s Rules of Conduct, which prohibit the memorization, recording, reproduction, disclosure, publication, transmission, solicitation, or sharing of any examination content, in whole or in part, before, during, or after the examination.
Unfortunately, we are aware that some individuals are discussing, sharing, and/or soliciting Canadian Physiotherapy Examination (CPTE) content through online forums and other channels. CAPR investigates all reports of potential violations in accordance with CAPR’s Misconduct Policy. Reports include information obtained from online sources, as well as reports from candidates, examiners, proctors, members of the public, educational institutions, and regulators.
Candidates found to have violated the Rules of Conduct have faced serious consequences, depending on the nature of the violation. Penalties administered by CAPR include:
- Loss of the examination attempt
- Temporary or permanent ban from participating in the CPTE
- Legal action against the candidate
- Notification of the misconduct to all Canadian physiotherapy regulators (which may impact the candidate’s ability to obtain a license to practice physiotherapy in Canada).
As future health professionals, exam candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to confidentiality, ethics, professionalism, and integrity.
Sharing or seeking information about CPTE content can undermine the fairness and validity of the examination process. It can also create an unfair advantage for some candidates and compromises public confidence in the profession’s entry-to-practice standards.
Protecting examination integrity helps ensure that all candidates are assessed fairly and that the public can continue to have confidence in Canada’s physiotherapists. If you become aware of examination content being shared online or through any other forum, please report it immediately to CAPR at tipline@alliancept.org. Anonymous reports are permitted.
