The Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR) is committed to providing high quality entry to practice services that meet the needs of individuals seeking to practice physiotherapy in Canada.
As part of that ongoing effort, CAPR is set to expand opportunities for individuals to write the Physiotherapy Competency Exam (PCE).
Starting in January 2024, CAPR will offer the PCE 10 times over the calendar year. The PCE will be available through remote proctoring for the early part of 2024 before moving to a hybrid model featuring opportunities for in-centre testing in addition to remote proctoring.
Previously, CAPR offered the PCE five times annually.
As CAPR moves forward with expanded testing, the work to finalize details to support this change continues.
Exam dates for 2024 will be announced in October 2023. Application deadlines will be announced at the same time. If necessary, CAPR will shorten application deadlines (which are usually 8 weeks) to ensure applicants have enough time to apply prior to the first exam date.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we move forward with these changes.
