CAPR is looking for new members to join the Evaluation Services Committee as we seek broader representation from key Canadian physiotherapy organizations. The committee provides proactive, strategic advice and recommendations to CAPR’s Board of Directors to assure leading-edge evaluation services.

CAPR’s Board of Directors strives to build bridges with the broader physiotherapy community. The Board recently changed the Terms of Reference of the Evaluation Services Committee by aligning membership with CAPR’s strategic goal of Stakeholder Engagement. This means members of the physiotherapy community (through key Canadian physiotherapy organizations) will have influence and gain insight into the heart of CAPR’s evaluation services and programs.

We will be approaching Physiotherapy Education Accreditation Canada, the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and the Canadian Council of Physiotherapy University Programs to put forward names of members to fill gaps in the Evaluation Services Committee membership. These organizations are members of the National Physiotherapy Advisory Group. Applicants are also welcome to submit applications to fill other currently vacant positions.

Kathy Davidson, National Director, Evaluation Services at CAPR, said of the Board decision, “Revising the Terms of Reference of our committee lets us continue building transparency and involvement with Canadian physiotherapists. New committee members will be chosen from those put forward by NPAG members based on geography, competencies and experience to best meet the needs of the committee as we navigate CAPR’s future.”

Davidson says the members selected will bring experience and expertise in educational credential and qualifications assessment, regulation of physiotherapists, international assessment testing standards and, through roles at senior levels, knowledge of physiotherapy competencies at entry-to-practice.

The committee meets up to six times a year. For the next two years, committee members will steer the work of the Expert Advisory Panel which is focused on developing the long-term future of CAPR’s evaluation services.

Read about the skills and competencies we are looking for in the Evaluation Services Committee Terms of Reference. If you are interested in putting your name forward, complete the Application Form (PDF or Word). You can submit your application independently or through your respective NPAG organization.
