The Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR) is a not-for-profit organization that provides standardized entry-to-practice assessment (evaluation services) on behalf of the Canadian physiotherapy regulators (excluding Quebec).

Evaluation services include:

Credentialling:

  • Determining whether an individual educated outside of Canada possesses the knowledge and skills (obtained through education and training) that are comparable to a graduate from an approved Canadian physiotherapy program.
  • Determining eligibility to sit the Canadian Physiotherapy Examination.

Examination:

  • Developing the Canadian Physiotherapy Examination, the entry-to-practice exam that assesses the competencies required for safe, effective, and independent physiotherapy practice.
  • Administering Canadian Physiotherapy Examination, ensuring a standardized evaluation of ALL licensure candidates, maintaining comparable standards across jurisdictions, regardless of where candidates completed their education and training.
